VIPRE Enterprise is an antivirus and antispyware product for Enterprises from Sunbelt Software. VIPRE Enterprise is designed to optimize performance by melding antivirus and antispyware into one engine. The application runs with minimal impact on system resources, so users won't notice a significant slowdown in system performance.
The application has a management console so administrators can manage all computers in the organization from a single location. The console also provides administrators customizable dashboards with scanning and remediation activities that show overall health and performance of computers in the organization. Administrators can create policies that automatically deploy agents to all computers or to specific computers by group, IP address, a range of IP's, subnets, or Active Directory.
VIPRE Enterprise uses multiple techniques to inspect the characteristics of all types of potentially threatening files. From simple signature-based detection to dynamic, analysis of malware files. It provides real-time scanning, and a FirstScan feature designed to detect and remove embedded malware at boot-up.
The agent is supported on all versions of Windows from Windows 2000 SP4 to Windows 7 (both 32 and 64-bit versions) and Windows Server 2003 and 2008. The software requires 150Mb of disk space, and 256Mb of Ram. It's memory footprint is about 49Mb during a scan, which is one of the smallest compared to other products on the market.
